It was a beautiful, sunny day in Fort Worth for Thursday’s waste audit. Thank you to RCP Sales Representative Samantha Halpern, and Grainger for setting this event up. The 443-bed Cook Children’s Hospital uses a central garbage chute, so we were able to get an accurate sampling of random waste throughout the entire hospital. We uncovered that approximately 9% of their waste could be diverted; however, even more recyclable materials appeared in the trash we sorted but was contaminated by being incorrectly thrown in a landfill receptacle. With proper Rubbermaid Commercial Products recycling solutions throughout the facility I am confident that Cook Children’s Hospital could divert an even greater amount of materials from the landfill. I am headed back down I-45 to Houston next week!
