Rubbermaid® Mobile ESD Utility Carts Have Static Fighters Built Right In
Winchester, Va. (December 10, 2001) – Rubbermaid Commercial Products has marked its entry into a new industrial channel with the introduction of a line of Mobile Electro-Static Dissipative (ESD) Utility Carts engineered for environments in which sensitive electronic components are produced, such as information technology and telecommunications industries.
The production of circuit boards, computer chips and other electronic components requires strict control of unwanted static charges within the production environment.
Rubbermaid Commercial Products’ new line of carts, which includes a utility and a flat-shelf version guard against uncontrolled static discharges that can destroy electronic components, interrupt production and result in equipment field failures. Designed for use in clean room environments, the carts are molded completely of a unique low-sloughing, ESD resin.
The carts have molded-in dissipative qualities with surface resistance measures within the 106 to 109 ohms/sq range. For added protection they are equipped with a common ground point connector, dissipative casters and a drag chain with a 1 ohm resister.
The Flat Shelf Utility Cart (4505-45,4525-45) provides users with a convenient work surface and storage bins.
The ESD Utility Cart has a sunken top shelf with protective edges to hold sensitive equipment, components and supplies in place during transportation.
