Rubbermaid Commercial Products Announces "Go Racing in Vegas Sweepstakes"
Winchester, Va. (September 17, 2001) – Just months after Newell Rubbermaid announced it would sponsor a NASCAR racecar driven by Kurt Busch, the company has launched a sweepstakes that will offer a variety of prizes, including a trip to the Winston Cup and Busch Series Races.
"We're devoting significant resources to the NASCAR sponsorship" said Mike Moorefield, President of Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP). "This sweepstakes is a way to create awareness of our sponsorship among our customers and to showcase the RCP web site which includes many new products and features."
No purchase is necessary to enter the "Go Racing in Vegas" sweepstakes. Participants can visit www.rubbermaidcommercial.com and click on the Rubbermaid Racing area to submit an entry form online. Complete details and rules are available on the site. The sweepstakes runs through Nov. 30.
In addition, people may enter the sweepstakes at the RCP booth (#1933) at the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) show held Oct. 17-19 in Orlando, Florida. The show will also provide the opportunity for people to be photographed with the Sharpie Rubbermaid car and may get autographs from driver Kurt Busch, who will appear at the booth on Oct. 17.
The "Go Racing in Vegas" sweepstakes has first, second, and third prizes. The first prize is a trip for two to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series Races in February and March of 2002. The package includes coach airfare, hotel accommodations for 4 nights/5 days, car rental, two tickets to the Winston Cup and two tickets to the Busch Race, two tickets to a Las Vegas show and $500 in cash for spending money.
Two second prizes are limited edition Kurt Busch #97 Rubbermaid Racing leather jackets. Third prizes include 10 collectible limited edition Kurt Busch #97 die cast models. Kurt Busch #97 is a driver for the Roush Racing Team, which is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 22-year-old Las Vegas native started his career at age 14 and is the youngest NASCAR Touring Champion in history.
