Rubbermaid Commercial Products Introduces Slim Jim® with Venting Channels
Design Innovations Improve Productivity
Winchester, VA (June 1, 2007) – Rubbermaid Commercial Products, the industry leader in waste management solutions, introduces the new Slim Jim® with Venting Channels. The new Slim Jim® waste container has been designed with innovative, patent-pending features that improve productivity and ergonomics.
“Labor-related costs have tremendous impact on the bottom line,” said Christen Brooker, Product Manager. “To help reduce those costs, RCP designed the Slim Jim® with Venting Channels to improve worker well-being and productivity. New patent-pending venting channels decrease the force required to lift out a full can liner by up to 60% when compared to similar traditional containers. Securing a can liner is more efficient with four new patent-pending molded-in can liner cinches—no more tying knots around the rim of the container.”
Slim Jim® with Venting Channels requires up to 60% less effort to empty because patent-pending integrated channels reduce the vacuum formed inside the container. This innovative design makes waste collection faster and easier for workers. The new Slim Jim® also features four new patent-pending, can liner cinches that eliminate the need to tie knots in can liners. New molded-in side handles and bottom base grips improve lifting, emptying, and dragging. A new Stainless Steel dolly, with four all plastic swivel casters, provides corrosion resistant mobility in wet environments.
Two new lid styles are available: the Hinge Lid completely covers the container when not in use, complying with FDA Food Code standards, and the Swing Lid provides a hygienic, hands-free solution. The new Stainless Steel Dolly, Hinge Lid, and Swing Lid all maintain Slim Jim’s famous narrow profile. The new lids and dolly are compatible with current, non-vented Slim Jims.
